The Absence of You: Four Days of Soulful Poetry. - ISHEMA Toussaint

Image
Day 1 Sunshine Day one without you, afraid My soul's missing vitamin D, dismayed Chronic illnesses await me, unafraid But you told me we're connected, hope conveyed Your "Hi" was the sunrise, so bright "Good night" the sunset, a peaceful sight Other girls are like artificial light, meaningless despite Your shine captivated my soul's heart, a guiding light No more osteomalacia, you're all I need Good Energy, Motivation, hope, and happiness indeed Like a tree ready to blossom, I'll succeed With you behind me, even in the bad season, I won't recede May God bless our friendship, pure and true Our souls intertwined, forever anew Day one without you, but I won't be blue For I know our connection will always ensue.
